«Last day in Amsterdam»

El jueves pasado fuimos a Amsterdam a ver una instalación del artista Krijn de Koning, en De Nieuwe Kerk, una iglesia habilitada para exponer todo tipo de obras de arte. La instalación estaba montada a media altura de la iglesia, con lo que podías ver ciertos puntos y perspectivas de ésta que des de una altura normal son difíciles de ver. Se trata de un espacio con muchísimas paredes de colores, ventanas y puertas que dejan ver las diferentes y coloridas habitaciones contiguas.

Después fuimos a una exposición de la diseñadora de libros Irma Boom. Es su biografía en libros, en la Universiteit Van Amsterdam. La exposición es muy bonita, porque a parte de sus libros se pueden ver sus referencias, inspiraciones y notas en lápiz escritas en la pared por la misma autora (la última fotografía de esta entrada no pertenece a un libro diseñado por ella, se puede ver en la exposición, y creo que es precioso). Si te pasas por Amsterdam, recomiendo que vayas a verla.

Fué un día bonito, después de ir a éstos dos sitios fuimos a comer, y luego regresamos a la universidad, para seguir trabajando! Agotador pero bien aprovechado!

Last Thursday we went to Amsterdam to see an installation by the artist Krijn de Koning, in De Nieuwe Kerk, a church enabled to expose all kinds of artworks. The installation was in the mid-height of a church, this give you the possibility to see certain points and perspectives that in a normal height are difficult to see. This is a space with lots of painted walls, windows and doors that show the different and colorful contiguous rooms.

Then we went to an exhibition of the books from the designer Irma Boom. There is shown her biography in books, at the Universiteit Van Amsterdam. The exhibition is very beautiful, because apart of her books you can check her references, inspirations and also you can see notes written in pencil on the wall by the same author. (The last picture on this post does not belong to a book designed by her, but you can see it in the exhibition, and I think that is very nice). If you go to Amsterdam, I recommend you to go and see it.

It had been a beautiful day, after going to these two places we went to eat, and then returned to college to continue working! Exhausting but well spent!
