«Glitches»

Pese a que ayer fue un día muy divertido, no faltaron los accidentes. Entre la grabadora y la cámara de fotos, sólo me faltó un frenazo del autobús para que mi cámara se cayera al suelo!! El resultado fue: la cámara sigue haciendo fotos pero la pantalla está completamente rota de manera que es imposible reconocer absolutamente nada... Por contrario, siempre se puede sacar provecho de una pantalla única que hace unos efectos "glitch" muy originales...

Hice unas cuantas fotos de la pantalla con mi otra cámara Harinezumi y algún que otro video... estoy pensando aprovechar éste material para hacer algo! Quizás un videoclip para alguna canción de Davic Nod? unos visuales?... continuará!

Despite yesterday was a fun day, it wasn't without accidents. Between the recorder and the camera, I only needed a bus braking so that my camera falled down! The result: the camera is taking pictures but the screen is completely broken so it's impossible to recognize anything... On the other side, you can always take advantage of a single screen which has a very original and awesome glitch effects...

I made a few screen shots with my other camera Harinezumi and some other videos... I'm thinking to do something with this material!! Maybe a video for a Davic Nod's song? maybe visuals?... to be continued!

Ayer acompañé a mi hermano - Davic Nod - a hacer una actuación en un autobús de Barcelona con la aplicacion de Reactable Systems en un iPad. El evento llamado iMusic, fue organizado por TMB y tuvo muy buena acogida!!

Yesterday I accompanied my brother - Davic Nod - to do a performance on a bus from Barcelona with the application of Reactable Systems in an iPad. The event called iMusic, was organized by TMB and was very well received!

Y seguramente os preguntaréis... pero qué es Reactable? Pues se trata de un instrumento electrónico visual, basado en una superficie digital sobre la que se construyen las melodías con los dedos. Diseñada por unos cuantos estudiantes de la universidad Pompeu i Fabra de Barcelona, tiene el objetivo de crear un instrumento colaborativo e intuitivo que permite acercar el proceso de creación musical a todo el mundo. Uno de los artistas más famosos que ya la han utilizado es la cantante islandesa Björk, que en 2007 realizó la gira de su disco Volta con Reactable.

And you probably are wondering... what Reactable is? Well, it is an electronic & visual instrument, based on a digital surface in which you can build melodies with your fingers. Designed by a few students from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, aims to create a collaborative and intuitive instrument that allows to bring the musical creation process to the worldwide. One of the most famous artists who have already used it is the Icelandic singer Björk, who in 2007 made ​​the tour of his album Volta with the Reactable.

«Future Textiles»

Ayer fuimos a ver la exposición "Futuro Textiles" que se encuentra en el Museu Marítim de Barcelona hasta el 2 de Abril, os recomiendo que no perdáis la oportunidad de ir a verla!!

Al entrar nos encontramos con dos bebés gigantes que se mueven, un vestido hecho de microfibras que parecen cabellos, a modo de melena gigante, diseñado por Ben Gregory, un vestido que se disuelve con el agua de Helen Storey, o otro diseñado por Alyce Santoro hecho a partir de cintas de audio, que al entrar en contacto con un magnetófono produce sonidos. También podemos encontrar muestras de textiles fotoluminiscentes, termocromáticos, cosmetotextiles, colchones con propiedades afrodisíacas, o tejidos que cambian de estampado al entrar en contacto con el agua. Y por último en la sala oscura descubrimos unos maravillosos vestidos hechos con fibra óptica que se iluminan de colores cambiantes.

En resumen, es una exposición muy divertida y curiosa de ver!

Yesterday we went to the exhibition "Future Textiles" that you can see in the Museu Marítim de Barcelona until the 2th of April, I really recommend you don't miss the chance to go there and take a look!!

At the entrance we find two giant babies moving, a dress made out of microfibers that seem hair, like a giant mane designed by Ben Gregory, a dress that can be dissolved in water from Helen Storey, or an other one designed by Alyce Santoro made ​​from audio tapes, which when it come into contact with a tape recorder produces sounds. We can also find samples of photoluminescent textile, thermochromic, cosmetotextiles, aphrodisiac mattresses, or textiles that changes its pattern when contact with water. And finally in the dark room we find some wonderful dresses made with optical fiber that produces light with changing colors.

In short, is a very fun and curious exhibition to watch!
